School rules of the road

I would like to put a question out in the opinion area of The Citizen. Question of the day: With the new laws coming into affect as of Sept. 20 for speeding in school zones, can the RCMP still ticket a driver for speeding where the school zone signs are still up and posted even though the school is closed down? I have phoned the RCMP already and have not got a answer to this question as of yet...I would really like to hear what the answer would be from the public.

And, just to let you know that a gentleman from the traffic control did phone me back and did explain the procedures of the school zones and playground zones. I just wonder how many people in Prince George do know the rules and speed limits in town, considering the different times for both zones. If The Citizen could maybe remind all the drivers out there that the school zones are in affect from eight to five and that playground times are in affect from dawn to dusk it might help to slow people down in those areas.
