Save the cutbanks

We have recently witnessed another human incursion on the Nechako Cutbanks adjacent to McMillan Park.

Under the auspices of a slogan to "Aim High," in page 5, of the Nov. 2 Prince George Citizen, students involved are far from experiencing an appropriate lesson in preserving the natural environment.

Climbing and eroding the slopes has recently resulted in a gravel spill onto the paved Pulp Mill Road, quite apart from a huge swath splitting the aesthetic view of the cutbanks.

What next?

The cutbanks are one of our natural wonders in the city, and by most standards of natural preservation, should be entitled to rest in peace comfortably.

The community as a whole needs to decide if our natural environment is worth preserving.

If so, keep off the cutbanks.
