After reading the story from The Associated Press regarding the death of Rod Toombs, aka Rowdy Roddy Piper, I decided to add some thoughts of my own.
Rod Toombs is the son of Stan Toombs (deceased) and Eileen Toombs of Campbell River. Eileen is a local girl who was raised in Giscome and Prince George.
They were married here in Prince George on June 26, 1942 in Knox United Church. I thought many local old timers would be interested. Anyone can Google Rowdy Roddy Piper to read all about him and his very interesting life.
My heart and love goes out to Eileen and her family.
