An interesting news item in Victoria and Vancouver, which are considering changing streets named Trutch after B. C.'s first lieutenant governor. Apparently Colonial B. C.'s Mr. Trutch was not as fair as he could have been regarding land reserves of the Indigenous peoples. The name of our city Prince George along with Prince Rupert, Prince Albert, Regina and Victoria all smack of colonialism.
Could these cities be on the radar of the politically correct among us for name changes? It seems that our past is being rewritten as we would like it to have been, rather than the way it was.
