Restrain that pet

As most B.C. residents are now aware, 2010 has seen travelling while texting or talking on your cell phone become a ticketable offence. Why? Safety is quite clearly the primary reason this proactive change.

As most B.C. residents are now aware, 2010 has seen travelling while texting or talking on your cell phone become a ticketable offence. Why? Safety is quite clearly the primary reason this proactive change. To my utter disbelief, travelling with your unrestrained pet in the front seat and even your lap is not!

It doesn't take a wild imagination to come up with any number or situations in which an unrestrained dog causes the driver to become distracted, resulting in an accident.

Now let us look at the end result of said accident - your families beloved pet is almost certainly dead, badly injured at the very least, which can result in a charge under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act; and more importantly, you have potentially seriously injured other people.

If you claim to love your pet, if you claim to be a safe driver, then use your brain and properly restrain every passenger in your vehicle.
