Seventy years ago Canadian Armed Forces marched into the Netherlands and liberated the Dutch from five years of Nazi occupation.
November 11th is Remembrance Day and this year the ceremonies will feature the liberation of the Netherlands.
Many Canadians made the ultimate sacrifice and were laid to rest in cemeteries throughout Holland.
If you or your parents or grandparents are survivors of the occupation, I urge you to join other Prince George Dutch/Canadians at the Civic Centre to give thanks and to remember those who helped to make us free. We will remember them.
