Mr. Mihlar is certainly a very innovative thinker! Imagine, those of us who live in the north, and that can be anywhere in northern Canada, are unaware that being the perennial drawers of water and hewers of wood is the future we should strive for.
That particular scenario of our destiny has all the vision of a toad.
Forget the pertinent and valid rationale we rather stupid northerners have for the long term health of our planet and how about crediting us with having both the brains and education to be innovative thinkers. We have a wealth of human resources that will be able to see beyond the immediate solution of dig it and sell it.
The Globe and Mail's Report on Business on February 21st features opinions from economists who warn against the "bitumen cliff", and the never ending Canadian conundrum of "exporting our staples in raw form and buying back processed, value added products and services at a much higher cost".
Is it not time that we were the recipients of a real vision?
