I am sick that bullying is still happening in the hallways and fields of our schools. Explain to me please how this is not recognized and acted on by school staff. These people have a responsibility to our children. I am wondering why there is no statement from PGSS administration. Why no condemnation. Are they more interested in protecting the reputation of the school than protecting the kids?
In this day and age there is no excuse for an adult population that either fails to recognize or fails to act on bullying. Teachers, counsellors and administration must be committed to this issue and quit leaving the students of the leadership classes to lead the charge.
Students, if you know of a bullying situation bring it to the adults in charge. If they don't listen keep talking, if they still don't listen call the RCMP, the ministry of families, children's hotline, parents, etc. Keep talking, someone will listen, and then make sure they act. Let's start holding the adults accountable for their actions or lack thereof, and then maybe we will start to see the bullies lose some of their power base.
