On Friday June 22, a man in an old truck ahead of me in the Tim Horton's drive-thru in College Heights paid for my order. It was a random act of kindness from someone I didn't know. I don't know if it was truly random, or if he saw the sad and worried look on my face and wanted to help. What he didn't know was that I was buying a fruit smoothie for my friend whose baby had died. She was so sad she wasn't eating and needed a drink that had some nutrition.
Thank you, kind sir, you had no idea who you were helping that day. A little bit of light was shed on a sad day. I encourage the rest of us to do a random act of kindness today as you never know who you might touch.
