Racism doesn't come naturally

It seems racism can not die. Why after so many years have we not learned our lesson? Let me share a story with you and it will show you exactly where racism is taught. My son was eight and we were at the walk-in clinic in Spruceland.

My son was eight and we were at the walk-in clinic in Spruceland. It must have been an epidemic, because the waiting room was filled with almost all children. Kyle and I waited for about half an hour and out from the back room comes an obviously very drunk native woman. She is spouting at the top of her lungs that if she were white, like all of us, she would have better medical, and if she were white like us, she would be able to see a doctor, and while she is ranting about how unfortunate she is to not be white the doctor comes out to talk to her, in the waiting room, and give her a prescription.

As she is leaving, and all of the "white" children are watching her leave, my son turns to me and says why does she call us white? what's "white" mean? And there you have it people, racism taught to my son and certainly not by me.
