Thanks to Neil Godbout for his succinct analysis of the province's approach to the proposed Northern Gateway project in Friday's editorial "Time to get off the fence".
However, the statement that the Joint Review Panel is "a 'joint review', meaning it is a collaborative review by the provincial and federal government" is factually incorrect. In fact the review panel is an entirely federal exercise being conducted jointly by the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the National Energy Board.
Clearly we might all benefit from a clear explanation of B.C.'s decision to not participate in a harmonized environmental assessment.
