Public has a right to comment on risky energy projects

We fail to see how members of the public seeking to have input into a government regulatory process could possibly be accused of "gaming the system.

We fail to see how members of the public seeking to have input into a government regulatory process could possibly be accused of "gaming the system." This is especially true during the review of an oil pipeline project that carries such clear risks for the health and environment of communities across Ontario and Quebec.

Public input is an essential part of democracy and is required to ensure the transparency and accountability Canadians have expected of our government since Confederation. There can be no rightful review or approval of major projects in Canada without public consultation.
