Prince George knows how to give

Tim Bennett has spent his whole life giving back to Prince George, the community he grew up in.

Tim Bennett has spent his whole life giving back to Prince George, the community he grew up in. Now the manager of events at Big Brothers Big Sisters of PG (he will soon transition into the role of executive director), Tim has been honoured with a number of service awards: he received the Queen's Jubilee Medal, was once named the City of Prince George's Youth of the Year and was recently listed on the Chamber of Commerce's Top 40 Under 40.

The people of our city drive Tim to get involved whenever he can: "Prince George is such a friendly community. No matter where you go, everyone is smiling and willing to greet you. I am also always impressed at how often Prince George steps up and helps local organizations and individual families in need. I truly love it here and can't picture myself anywhere else."

Tim uses the list of activities at takeonPG.com to unwind during his busy schedule.

He loves to get out and golf (No. 275), play softball (No. 85) and volleyball (No. 209). Because spending time with family and friends is important to him, Tim is a huge fan of the Copper Pig Restaurant, which emphasizes serving good food in a social atmosphere (No. 119).

Tim wants to encourage others to be proud of Prince George: "Some people just don't know what it's really like here and are very quick to judge. I think it's time we stand up, be vocal and just share how amazing our community is."
