Price shock at the pumps

For the last two weeks we have seen an increase of 12 cents at the gas pumps. At first it jumped 10 cents in one day then it dropped back down after a day only to sky rocket another 12 cents over the long weekend.

For the last two weeks we have seen an increase of 12 cents at the gas pumps. At first it jumped 10 cents in one day then it dropped back down after a day only to sky rocket another 12 cents over the long weekend. To me this shows that perhaps the gas stations thought the weekend of May 10 was the long weekend and increased the gas and then realized their error only to increase it even more over the long weekend in order to gouge the citizens and travellers coming through Prince George.

There seems to be no rationale for the huge increase and for most of us our hands are tied because we commute to work and need to fill up so we have to pay whatever the price is. I think it is pure greed on the gas stations part to increase the gas just before a long weekend or summer time when a lot of people are travelling. We need to do something about it, but what can we do? Do we write to the MLA and ask for support to put an end to this? The government wants people to travel and boost tourism, but who can afford to travel when gas is so expensive? How can the gas stations in Prince George justify 12 cents over three days. I would like to know the answer to this.
