Christy, please understand that for some students, ruining public education is about even more than destroying their futures. There are many students who come to my school to simply eat. Their living situation is so bad that they make it to school through sleet and snow, simply to eat something. If there is no school, they do not get a proper meal. I'm positive that private schools, like the one your son attends, don't have this obstacle with their student population.
As a premier, a leader, and a self described Christian: restore public education now. Treat the teachers that educate our children, and in many cases feed them with their own resources, the respect they deserve. Give back what the highest court in the province has ordered you to do- twice. I know you are waiting for teachers to starve before this court case comes to a decision but please think about what you are doing. Gutting the public education system with vouchers f or private schools will be the end for so many of our children.
