Poor air quality has negative health effects

This morning, I woke up, went to the washroom, and blew my nose only to find blood on the tissue paper. Recently, I have noticed that this is becoming a common occurrence. As far as I can remember, this never used to be the case before I moved to Prince George five years ago.

Developing these symptoms, in such a short period of time, worries me about the health of the individuals who have lived in Prince George for most of their life. I believe that the citizens of Prince George deserve better air quality than what is currently available.

I remember in 2010, the government tested the air quality and found 20 times more formaldehyde in the air than the safety requirements in B.C. recommend. It was the talk of the month among the residents, but everyone knew that nothing much was going to be done except maybe a retest of the quality which would cost money to the province and thereby the taxpayers.

I have tried looking online and found out that high amounts of fine particulates still exist in in the air. This particulate is highly damaging to the lungs.

Personally, I agree that the production of these particulates drives our economy, but at the same time, I would like to see our community work together to persuade government to implement plans to significantly reduce these particulate.
