Swimmers were expecting the Four Seasons Leisure Pool to re-open on Monday, but a slight delay has happened.

According to Lana Keim, the city's aquatic division manager, it will not be back in service until Wednesday, Jan. 19, two days later than initially intended. The facility had been closed for its annual servicing and maintenance period (the Prince George Aquatic Centre has been open in its stead).

"The workmen are still not out of there, there is some cleanup to do, and then they have to get the water up to temperature," said a pool employee.

The area, which holds the leisure pool, waterslide and hot tub, has been closed since Dec. 30 to complete work on the waterslide and replace the ceiling tiles.

Keim said there would be some phasing in of the Four Seasons facility, with the main pool area of the building to open at 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, but the full opening not possible until Wednesday.

Saturday lessons and evening aquafit classes will run as scheduled, though the facility will be closed on Sunday.
