Are they here to serve the public that elected them in?
It seems that all they are doing is serving the public service. Look at Bellos Road, from which we built our driveway going south with the agreement with Bill Bellos on the edge of his property in 1975.
In 1998, highways was privatized. We decided to help the MInistry of Highways to gravel Bellos Road that was from our gravel pit west and west, but instead of putting the gravel on Bellos Road, the Ministry of Highways expropriated our gravel to gravel other roads in the Red Rock area.
The quote from the road foreman said, "We didn't think you would mind if we put the gravel on roads in the Red Rock area."
I told him our agreement was null and void.
Ever since, we have had harassment from the Ministry of Highways, including deliberately narrowing Bellos Road to 3.7 metres on the highest hill with ditches on both sides 30 cm deep with zero visibility in both directions.
We had to get RCMP involved and they ordered the road widened back to its original width.
Each time new management comes in, things escalate again. Now it has started again with our private sign removed and neighbours threatened that there is not going to be service on Bellos Road.
We have approached politicians through the years to resolve this matter.
Factual information has been given to them and nothing has been done.
That's including Shirley Bond, Christy Clark, John Horgan and Mike Farnsworth. No response from any of them.
According to Shirley Bond's secretary, "Shirley Bond is not allowed to intervene with any activities that have to do with public service management."
Who controls the hiring of public service personnel?
We demand justice.
This has gone too far.
