I'm a single mother and sometimes it hard to make things happen, but every year I still manage to take my son to the fair. This year however, we did not enjoy ourselves as we have in the past. After paying the admissions cost, my son and I went to go get our wrist bands and start riding, because at the May fair, we learned its not worth it buying tickets.

So we were off and running and he wanted to go on the tilt-a-whirl first. When we went thru the gate, the attendant running the ride, grabbed my arm and said we had to measure my son before getting on, he was half and inch too short. We got kicked off even though I was going to ride the ride along with my son. My friend and her son went on, and patiently we waited for the ride to be over and off to the next ride, where we got kicked off again. There was nothing that he wanted to ride that was under the 42-inch height requirement. There was three or four baby rides and the same old fun houses that he had been in a million times. Being almost five, he didn't want to ride the boring ride that goes in a circle. I was going to go to talk to someone and get my money back and take him to play some games and win some prizes. They weren't going to lose out on any money, everyone would be happy, but this wasn't the case. I went to the West Coast Amusement trailer to talk to them about getting my $60 back so we could play games because no one would let my son on a ride. They informed me that its not in their policies to do refunds due to insurance reasons.

I was stern with what I said but was not rude or threatening by any means, I just wanted my son to have fun and told her I wasn't leaving this trailer until I had my money in my hand. She called security on me! I shook my head and told her she was out of her mind and walked away and sat on a bench with my son in the shade when to my surprise ... every security guard from the PGX was surrounding me. The girl told security I was uttering threats and swearing at her. Looking around there was about 12 security officers around me along with two police officers and we were escorted off the grounds. Now I'm out almost $100 and my son went home hot and let down. How shameful! I hope they have my poor son's face on their conscious and they see him crying as we were being asked to leave before he got to go anything at the fair! This experience really changed how I look at the PGX.. it has nothing to do with the community or families or kids for that matter ... all just another day another dollar. This really breaks my heart!
