I am writing in response to the front page article about PGAIR.
I applaud their efforts for cleaner air in trying to get consumers to change their driving habits to save fuel thus less pollution in our airshed. I believe this may be a difficult goal to achieve as in the north our vehicles are an extension of our work and play behaviours.
However here is an idea. Why not concentrate on the outlandish claims on fuel economy the manufacturers of pickups, SUVs, and even some cars claim. I would suggest that not one pickup, SUV, or muscle car gets even close to the fuel economy that is printed on car lot stickers or auto advertising.
PGAIR should maybe concentrate on getting the manufacturers of vehicles to clean up their act and produce better fuel economy machines. Pretty sure the technology does exists. This would benefit not only our airshed but the consumer as well who pays for the fuel in the first place.
