I would like to take this opportunity to say many thanks to the citizens and the unsung heroes of Prince George. During the World Baseball Challenge, I was one of the hosts for Team Japan, which had many young players who had never played overseas before. The wonderful photographs taken by James Doyle were amazing and the players were so proud to see themselves in a local newspaper during the tournament. Because of their rare experiences and seeing themselves through local media's eyes, it added so much more excitement for them.
During their stay, they went to many different places, speaking little English, yet they didn't have much problem navigating themselves through town. They consistently mentioned to me that how kind and courteous people were.
These random acts of kindness are all about Prince George. We experience and see them every day, yet we forget about how wonderful and great a city we live in. This is the reason why I am so proud to call Prince George my home.
