P.G. residents gouged at pumps

Despite having our own refinery, Prince George is paying $1.42.9/l. That is only two cents less than gas prices in the Lower Mainland where they pay 17 cents in extra regional taxes. Current oil prices are hovering around $100 per barrel.

Despite having our own refinery, Prince George is paying $1.42.9/l. That is only two cents less than gas prices in the Lower Mainland where they pay 17 cents in extra regional taxes. Current oil prices are hovering around $100 per barrel. That would normally justify pump prices about a third less than we are paying. Clearly the oil companies are gouging us. If they cannot be reasonable in how they price their product, then perhaps it's time for government oversight of gas prices - exactly like we do with every other utility.
