Peebles tribute classy

Being a long time subscriber to The Citizen, I have three hot buttons when it comes to the paper's features. The sports page, dreadfully, the obituaries and, after I've been to a concert, I anxiously wait to hear the review of the performance.

Frank Peebles certainly didn't disappointment on how he viewed the John Fogerty show Sunday night and what particularly touched me was how he closed off his editorial with a heartfelt tribute to Kirby Tott. It was the classiest concert review I have ever read.

He initially had us hooked on his in-depth recap, having us sailing away with legendary classic rock memories that we envisioned during the read.

Then near the end he appropriately inserted what Kirby Tott meant to our city, tying together how he was no senator's son but one of Prince George's own.

The Tott family, a long standing, respected family in this city, will indeed cherish Mr. Peebles' tribute forever.

Being a former carrier and my brother being a long time employee of The Citizen I cannot express enough how proud I am of how The Citizen represents our community. They have a staff there right from Colleen Sparrow, the managing editor, right down to the gang in the press room who really care. If you're not a subscriber you're missing out, and if you are, tell others to buy the paper!
