Pavilion design a throwback

Good grief, take me back to the Sixties! The design for the yet to be built Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park Pavilion is pathetic. How this roof design reflects the native culture of the people who first inhabited the area is beyond me.

Good grief, take me back to the Sixties! The design for the yet to be built Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park Pavilion is pathetic.

How this roof design reflects the native culture of the people who first inhabited the area is beyond me. When I look at the architecture, I think '60s, a time when the native people were looked down upon with extreme prejudice.

Along with the name change of the park there is a huge effort being made to recognize the native culture of the area.

This design concept, in my opinion, is a step in the wrong direction.

It seems to me that a very small group of people were responsible for its design and approval and the native artists of the area were obviously left out of this project.
