My passport needed renewal so I logged onto a site to renew my passport online. I naively assumed I was communicating with the federal passport office. This was not the case - it was some kind of private organization who charged me $216.96 to send my application to the passport office.
I sent all my passport information to this organization, which in retrospect is obviously a scam.
It would be good if you could inform your readers to only communicate with the federal passport office and not fall for this scam. Once again I must admit there is no fool like an old fool.
