I read Glenda Graham's letter on Friday with great interest, as pretty much the exact same petty attitude was shown to us last week. I came home to find all our paper products gone from that bin, but about 1/3 of our larger bin still had cans and plastic in it, plus one refundable (hey, 5 cents!!) Starbucks beverage bottle and a note attached saying they don't recycle glass! OK, we had inadvertently put a valuable glass bottle in the bin.....would it have killed you to take the actual remaining recyclable material and deal with that, and just leave the one glass bottle for us to build our retirement on?
Glenda's plastic bags (the horror....) must have been closer to the top of her bin; it looked to us like MMRA was trying to teach us a lesson, and had dutifully gone through the bin until they found the "contraband", at which point they just stopped.
You know, we're all in this recycling biz together, and I was pleased to see my tax dollars going to curbside recycling, but not if I need bi-weekly punishing for breaking the rules.
