On Sept. 27 we were treated to the spectacle of Thomas Stocker (co-chair Working Group 1) admitting they couldn't explain the cessation of warming. (He called it a "hiatus". If they don't know why it stopped, how do they know it will resume?) He suggested that maybe the heat was hiding in the deep ocean. (He had to say deep ocean because the Argo Buoy Network measures ocean temperatures down to a depth of two kilometers and they report the oceans are cooling.) They expect us to believe that for 150 years human-emitted CO2 has absorbed heat and warmed the globe but 15 years ago it stopped and since then has been transmitting it to the deep ocean without warming anything in between? I'll believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy before I'd swallow that one. They must be getting rather desperate.

Reality pays no attention to the IPCC. Climate will go on changing as it always has, without following the IPCC script.
