The recent article of bylaw officers being attacked is a red herring. The reason is to distract the PG taxpayer that the city and RCMP are on the job. It is all cosmetic.
During daylight business hours in downtown PG, the downtown core is flooded with the obvious presence of RCMP and lights flashing, with bylaw officers combing the streets for appearance. Little arrests are made during the day.
Most small property crimes occur in the late evening. How many RCMP cruisers or bylaw officers do you see patrolling the streets at this time? There seems to be a disconnect of when property crimes are committed and how many city resources are dispatched at the time of need.
