Opinion: Silence from city council on noise problems at Masich Place Stadium

It seems it is extremely difficult to get effective change out of our city council in a timely fashion.

I want to wish the folks who live in College Heights who oppose the massive developments plans the best of luck but be careful when dealing with city hall. Do not trust them.

Our small group in Seymour subdivision has been fighting to reduce the noise level at Masich Place Stadium for the past two years and have gotten nowhere despite talking with city council members.

In the city's brochure, the general rule is for people to be "considerate of community residents. Public disturbances and excessive noise, including vulgar language and honking horns, are prohibited. Noise permits must be issued for amplified noise.”

If issued, you can make all the noise you want. At Christmas 2022 at White Spot, we were promised changes would be forthcoming but so far the noise is still as loud. So once again it seems it is extremely difficult to get effective change out of our city council in a timely fashion.
