A significant portion of Prince George residents approves the speed in which pandemic restrictions have been loosened in B.C., according to a Citizen online poll.

The poll asked: How do you feel about the pace pandemic restrictions are being loosened in B.C.? The poll ran from June 16 to July 7.

The most common response (417 respondents, representing 42 per cent) said they feel the pace has been just right while another 19 per cent (192 respondents) said the restrictions were relaxed a bit too fast. Meanwhile, 16 per cent (163 respondents) said the restrictions were being dropped much too slow, 12 per cent (122 respondents) said they were being dropped much two fast and 11 per cent (106) said the restrictions were being relaxed a bit too slow.

A total of 1,000 confirmed local votes were cast in the poll. This poll had a 3.08 per cent margin of error, 19 times out of 20.

This was a random poll, meaning the poll question appeared only to random visitors of The Citizen’s website. The Citizen's polling system built into its new website allows for the capture of relevant local data and gives us the ability to detect and prevent fraudulent votes, as well as detect and prevent robots and filter out non-local and duplicate votes.
