Water fluoridation is not an issue in 97 per cent of the world because 97 per cent of the world does not flouridate their water!
The trend in Canada is to stop fluoridation. In fact since 1990 almost 70 communities in Canada have discontinued putting the chemicals in the water for a variety of reasons. These including tax costs, ethical issues, and the fact that fluoride might work when applied topically as in toothpaste but there is little evidence to show that it works in the water.
There are only four communities in BC that fluoridate their water, Sparwood, Cranbrook, Terrace, Fort St. John and Prince George. My guess is that most people in Prince George will choose to have the industrial waste that is put in the water in the name of fluoride in Prince George taken out when the referendum happens this fall. My hope is that the politicians will honor that choice.
