Hey, Donald, our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has no idea what he's defending here.
Our steel town inHamilton, Ont.,has no problem letting companies build their multi-billion dollar projects with Chinese steel. Recently Rio-Tinto built their massive new smelter using China steel and the LNG project in Kitimat that will soon be announcing its kickoff will also be using China steel .
Rio-Tinto , is a multinational company and their home base is not Canada.
During the modernization of Rio Tinto's smelter, there were three concrete pads constructed to install wet scrubbers that filter out harmful contaminants. The wet scrubberscost about $100 million each to fabricate and install. Those concrete pads still sit with no wet scrubbers installed to date .
Presently S0-2 levels are three times higher than before pre-construction 2012 .
Eventually most everyone gets the " Kitimat Cough," derived from the high SO-2 numbers.
The only cure is to leave town .
I'm hopeful that our new NDP Premier John Horgan will address this issue soon with Rio Tinto. As well this would show Green Party Andrew Weaver about meeting greenhouse gas targets.
As for Trudeau's belligerent ignorance by not taking away the 300 per cent tariff on dairy, he's now invoked a deliberate trade war with the biggest economy in the world.Our country will be heading to the poor house. President Donald Trump will tariff us to poverty before weeks end.
