Christmas time is here again and again, I'm not quite ready.
Every year, my husband and I decide that we'll be more organized and buy our gifts throughout the year.
Here we are again, two paycheques before Christmas, with only three gifts bought.
This year though, I've managed to get my Christmas cards done and mailed in a timely fashion though I still have some unsent cards from last year
kicking around somewhere.
Also, to be thrifty, my mom and I are sending the duplicate relative cards in the same envelope.
Christmas cheapness abounds at the Kuklis household.
I've been scouring Pinterest for DIY gifts for my family that I can theoretically make in time for Christmas that don't end up looking stupid.
We'll see how that turns out.
Luckily, it's craft fair season so I may be able to find some nice crafty gift that someone with more talent than I have has made for my loved ones.
You may have seen me this weekend at the Kelly Road craft fair frantically trying to find Christmas gifts for my family.
I have to admit thought that this is the first year that I'm not looking forward to decorating the house with all of our Christmas stuff.
We have a very nice fake Christmas tree and I like it.
It comes in three pieces and it's pre-lit with nice white lights.
However, my husband takes
umbrage with Christmas fakery so we normally have to get a real tree.
Don't get me wrong, I like real
Christmas trees.
The smell is beautiful and nostalgic and it creates a very Christmasy
atmosphere. Last year, the tree died and we threw out the real tree two weeks before Christmas and
redecorated the fake tree.
No more needles falling on the floor and it was awesome.
So this weekend will find me hunting for a Christmas tree that hopefully won't prematurely die and decorating my house with all of the decorations from the '80s that my parents were
going to get rid of.
Strangely, for a secular household, I seem to have a strange fondness for nativity scenes and have developed quite the collection.
Have fun Christmas shopping Prince George. I'll probably be cleaning needles off the floor.
