Not knowledgeable about science

I agree with Todd Whitcome in that the persons making the political decisions for the country are not knowledgeable of what science, and how it affects all of us, now, and into the future, is all about.

I expect my government at all levels to do what is right, not what is necessarily popular, or stridently called for by pressure groups. Does the fact that most communities don't have fluoridated water make it right? No.

Remember when we had opposition against seat belts? They would "trap you in the car" and so on. How about helmets for motorcyclists? The cost to the community of injury for those injured was considered to be worth more than the freedom to ride bare-headed.

Reducing the awful and costly effects of dental disease for the most vulnerable in society is easily and cheaply achieved by water fluoridation, "one of the most important public health measures of all time."

Step up you new politicians and mayor! Who is running the asylum in Prince George? Do what is right for the majority and the future generations, not what is necessarily popular.
