This is a letter I sent to the city council about something I just read about. I would also like to share it in The Citizen and let the people of Prince George know.
It's about the City Council agreeing to add Punjabi to some street signs. I am totally against doing something like that, if you are going to do it for this culture then do we put the signs in other languages that this city has in it. I am not racist but we are Canadians living in the city and country.
Once again the city council is not taking into consideration the people of this city as a whole. We voted you people in and we can vote you out.
The city council is always saying that we have to make cuts to the budget. The people of this city gets taxes raised to cover cost of the fundamentals to keep the city going, so why spend money on street signs in a different language? If the Sikh community is going to pay for all the added signs fine do it, but if it is going to be the people of Prince George going to end up paying for this sign change, this person says do not do it.
