No free rides from emergency room

Recently I had the misfortune to use the medical facilities of the ambulance services and emergency due to a injury to my left knee and joint muscles. While the medical services itself was satisfactory, the way I was treated by the front emergency staff at the front desk was unsatisfactory.

I could barely stand on my left leg, so I asked the social services department to issue me a cab home. I was refused and was told they would not do this anymore as this service was abused by other individuals that were drinking and drugging up their departure from the emergency ward.

I was stone cold sober and I have been for 16 years.

Because of the way I was treated, I had to hobble home on my cane. As a result it took longer to heal, due to the inflammation of my left knee.

To make matters worse, one of them mentioned that I would be going home on taxes that they pay. Well, I pay taxes too. Most everything you purchase nowadays has a tax involved somewhere along the way.

Looks like a two tiered service to me.
