I read in the newspaper recently about another new tax grab from our officials. While I agree that the infrastructure of our city is for sure probably at a stage where things need to be done and need to be fixed I have to wonder and ask why are we developing all these new residential areas when the ones we have are coming apart at the seams. If we can't look after what we have then to my way of thinking we should not be adding to the problem.
On the next page I see a change in snow removal for the upcoming season. Again I do not have a problem with this as I have seen a grader come down our street clearing snow that is barely even there - a huge waste of money. As mentioned above here we go again. We say that we do not have a budget to do this as often, even though we live in snow country, but we are building all kinds of new subdivisions with roads that will have snow that needs to be cleared.
Look after what we have and never mind building a whole load of new houses that are going to require the very same thing in a few years to come.
