I must draw your attention to a mistake in your recent story, "New pavilion to be built over picnic area at LTM Park."
Your story says the cost is $779,000 so I assume you've erroneously added an extra zero. After all, that kind of coin will buy or build one of Prince George's most luxurious homes, complete with land and furnishings, and this is a wall-less, windowless picnic shelter in an existing park. And $25,000 for a block of concrete with a plaque?
If these are the actual costs, allow me to paraphrase a recent quote from one of Neil Godbout's editorials: "Citizens of Prince George, if you're not outraged, you should be!" Mayor Hall, are you serious?
It's time for some accountability: a detailed cost breakdown please, and no snow jobs about how the money's coming out of different pockets (remember, the taxpayer wears just one pair of pants).
