Shirley Bond on the CKPG news tonight talked about the toll free bridge at the coast and that the people of the north (you and I) would be paying for it.
This is a bit of a laugh when we realize that the Liberals - including Shirley - OK'd the new Salmon Valley Bridge, a two-lane bridge in the part of Highway 97 north that is three lanes.
So it appears that neither the Liberals nor the NDP give a damn about the north. We are only here to be raped and pillaged and get the bare minimum in return.
Highway 97 north is a prime example of a steady stream of resources going south on a very old highway.
Not long ago a letter to the editor mentioned "seceding from the union." If governments in this province continue to treat the north as a cash cow and give nothing in return, I think we will see this term used more often.
