On January 7th, you published the detailed story of a Prince George woman - a friend of mine - who won a court case against ICBC for damages sustained in a MVA that for which she was not at all at fault. The story of the accident, the reasons for the judge's decision, and the size of the award were all worthy of a news article. Her name was irrelevant.

The accident, the legal fight, and the pain have been enough stress; the Citizen has now added to that by putting her in the spotlight. People can be funny about money - envious, judgmental. I hope that the excellent character of this woman will help protect her from such barbs.

Do not reply that court proceedings are public and therefore all is fair game to publish; the Citizen must have its own principles for publication. What are they in this case?
