Every day, a person will make many decisions: whether or not to get out of bed, what to eat, what to wear, etc.
Decisions like these are made more complicated during the last few weeks in Prince George because Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind.
Just when we all start to think that the spring-like weather is here to stay, it snows.Seriously?I don't hate winter.
I would just like an inkling of whether or not the weather will stay constant for more than four hours.
This year, our driveway looked pretty good.We had been shovelling fairly regularly and we hadn't had to use the snow blower more than a few times. We've been using shovelling as a reason to get outside and go sledding with the kids. They have their own shovels and push the snow around with us until the driveway is clear and then we take turns sledding down our steep driveway. It has been a pretty fun winter. Then it began to warm up and started to rain, which turned our driveway into a treacherous skating rink.
Thankfully, everything warmed up enough to start to melt the ice in our downspout, which was frozen solid.Prior to the ice melting, the water was dripping so quickly off our roof that we felt a bit like we should rename our house Eeyore.
Then it snowed again with perfect snowball snow that aches to beformed into a ball and thrown at your kids. Then it started melting again.
When I lived in Wells, outside of Barkerville Historic Town, the phrase that you would hear every day (usually a few times a day) was, "Don't like the weather?Wait five minutes."
It looks like El Nio is gifting us with mountain weather this winter while the Lower Mainland is drowning in rain.
It could be worse.
Should I wear rain boots, snow boots or running shoes tomorrow? We'll just have to wait five minutes and see.
