Most Canadians want harsher penalties, right?

There's no doubt in my mind that the majority of Canadians want harsher sentencing for those who commit vicious crimes. So we now have a prime mnister who wants to accomplish that.

There's no doubt in my mind that the majority of Canadians want harsher sentencing for those who commit vicious crimes. So we now have a prime mnister who wants to accomplish that. Now come the challenges with, "Do you realize how much that will cost?"

Of course that will cost to bring change to this mess we're in now.

Do they ever stop to think of what it cost us in the last 30 years to support this "slap on the wrist system" we now have.

Dispense with the firearms registration (except for hand guns, which have always had to be registered) and put those dollars where they need to be. Bring in stiffer sentences and build more prisons.

The Liberals come down harshly on Canadian citizens with the firearms registry program, uncalled for and unnecessary at enormous cost.

Now, let Harper and the Conservatives come down hard on those who commit crime, and have made our cities and streets unsafe. Harsh on Canadian law-abiding citizens or harsh on criminals and their freedom to perform. Which will it be?

Want to avoid more costs? The death penalty probably couldn't cost that much, and I say that with no shame. It's a free country, or is it?
