I am writing in response to a recent letter to the editor regarding election signage. I am currently volunteering with the Mike Morris' re-election campaign team as a dedicated member of the sign team. The majority of the members of our sign team are retired men who have enthusiastically embraced our volunteer roles with the same passion formerly applied to our work as local business owners.

Is this an election campaign? Yes. Are we currently campaigning to support our candidate, Mike Morris, as MLA for the critical upcoming election? Yes.

Is our job to remind voters to cast their vote for the best candidate standing for election in Prince George-Mackenzie? Yes.

Are we breaking any rules? No.

Many readers may not know that parts of the signs we post are recyclable and we do our best to deconstruct them in a manner that will allow pieces to be reused.

In addition, just as we've worked hard to ensure that the signs are visible and plentiful, we are just as dedicated to removing them on May 10, the morning after the election. Provincial election campaigns come but once every four years and the candidate signs are visible for approximately four weeks.

This is a part of the election process and I, for one, am glad that people are getting the message we are eager to distribute!
