Regarding the article addressing the passing of Henry Morgentaler, I would like to draw attention to the statement quoted by Joyce Arthur, the executive director of the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, in which she said Morgentaler was a hero who saved countless women's lives. That statement is highly debatable, but what can be stated more certainly is this: how many women's (and men's) lives did he campaign to make legal to destroy? Describing abortion as a fundamental human right for women is a horrific misplacement of terms which gives no regard to the miraculous event of conception of life and is deceivingly provided to society as something that is necessary. What crime has the unborn committed to deserve the harshest of penalties? Women indeed ought to have unalterable rights, as all people should, but what makes a right, right? I think we can all agree in this democracy that murder is not right, no matter your age or the inconvenience you may incur. Death is not the solution to unwanted babies, no matter how convenient and silent it may be.
