More opposition to Moore

I have been following the James Moore controversy with great interest, since his appointment was, unbelievably to me, announced after I thought we were done with him and his non-thinking, rigid, anti-science, anti-environment, lot on Oct. 19.

I have been following the James Moore controversy with great interest, since his appointment was, unbelievably to me, announced after I thought we were done with him and his non-thinking, rigid, anti-science, anti-environment, lot on Oct. 19.

Now I see the Northern Undergraduate Student Society has invited him to come up and speak to UNBC students, presumably to justify his appointment, as an important guy who can get the money and connections.

Just find someone else, who can think for themselves, who we can be proud to have representing our relatively-young, still free-thinking university, someone who's not part of the "Old Boys' Club."

The longer his appointment stands, the more of a fait accompli it becomes. Over 2,000 people have now signed a petition protesting his naming to this important post. Does the board of governors just ignore all those people and their many lucid comments? Is there no one else we can find? His government was roundly turfed by the people of this country in the last election, and the losers should not now be rewarded with a plum position at a liberal institution, albeit in one of the few Conservative ridings left in the country.
