I am so disappointed in Prince George because for some reason we do very little to attract tourism. So many just roll right through our town. If we could advertise our city some more, it would boosts sales at shops and restaurants which would help us financially in so many ways.
A tourist pullover rest stop, which includes a map and advertising on it so that tourist know what attractions are available, and where they are located would be helpful. Tourists information centre, parks, hotels, and museums are not prominently advertised.
All this information could be easily displayed at such a rest spot as we approach the city. A perfect example is on Highway 16 as you approach Vanderhoof or Highway 97 as you approach Williams Lake, not to mention many other locations. These sites do not require an attendant so the operating cost is minimal. Tourists are completely lost when they come to our city. Come on Prince George, promote our city.
