What a disappointment it has been to watch the stirring events taking place in Britain as our Queen celebrates her Diamond Jubilee, a once in a lifetime event, but not worthy of even a single picture, article or mention in the Citizen.
On TV, we saw Haida canoes and Dragon boats and other participants from Canada, yet even those did not merit a single paragraph. Shame on you.
You gave more coverage to royal weddings than to Her Majesty's milestone celebration. Monday is traditionally a slow news day for the Citizen, so we had hoped for a special edition with pictures perhaps. But nothing? Luckily other Canadian newspapers were available, complete with their souvenir editions.
Perhaps in ten years time (her next major milestone) you might get it right.
One can only hope.
