Metal music fans are not racist

Although the article is truthful regarding organized racism and its effects on society, I strongly disagree with the assumption about the local music scene. These social events do not in any way endorse racism or white supremacy.

Claiming that "local racists are getting organized" at these events is hurtful and disrespectful to the individuals who put in time and effort to organize them.

I'd like to know how much research the author did before making such statements as "There are guys in that scene who talk openly about white power... and they get together at these concerts," and, "The non-racists in the audience either don't notice, don't know what they are actually seeing/hearing, or... don't act against it."

I'm a non-racist and, since I have been attending local shows since I was 14-years-old, I can assure you I have seen no signs of racism in the people who attend or perform at them.

It would be shameful if citizens of Prince George stopped supporting the local music scene due to a writers' blunt assumption on a topic he didn't take the time to research properly.
