David Bond thinks the media has a conservative bias? On what planet?

A new poll labels Barack Obama the worst president since World War II. CBS gave the story 21 seconds, the rest of the mainstream media ignored it. They rarely report anything negative about him. In fact, during the 2008 presidential campaign, some 300 journalists formed something called the JournoList, agreeing to say nothing negative about Obama and nothing positive about McCain. To get the full impact, read Bernard Goldberg's book titled, “A Slobbering Love Affair, The True (and pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media”.

Crowdpac, a non-partisan firm dedicated to political data analysis, used U.S. federal campaign contribution records dating back to 1980 in order to estimate where various officials and donors fall on the political spectrum. They found that people who work in the news media are almost exclusively donors to liberal candidates.

Meanwhile in Canada, most of the media treat Justin Trudeau similarly, asking him cream puff questions, ignoring his multiple gaffs. They wrote hundreds of stories about suspected Tory robocall malfeasance, but nary a mention of the admitted robocall crimes of the Guelph federal Liberal Party and MP Frank Valeriote. Months of outrage over the expense spending of Conservative Senators Patrick Brasseau, Mike Duffy and Pam Wallin but scarcely a mention of Liberal Senator Mac Harb (who overbilled more than all three of them) or Liberal Senator Raymond Lavigne who was sentenced to 6 months for the same. Constant coverage of PMO chief of staff Nigel Write but not a word about Liberal activist Benjamin Levin, buddy of Justin Trudeau and Kathleen Wynne, who is on trial for child porn crime.

Kathleen Wynne’s first interview after the recent Ontario election was with a CBC reporter, and she started off by thanking the CBC for their help in winning the election, to which the reporter replied, “You’re welcome!” Conservative bias? Not hardly.

Elections, economics, climate change, morality, whatever the topic, the mainstream media mostly promotes the liberal side, sometimes going so far as to suppress opposing viewpoints. It’s a wonder any conservatives manage to get elected at all.
