Marotta incident out of proportion

Calling for the coaches heads... Marotta for Citizen of the Year... Have people lost their minds? Citizen of the year. Really? The coaches of the pee wee tier 1 team made an emotional decision in the heat of the moment.

The coaches of the pee wee tier 1 team made an emotional decision in the heat of the moment. Was it the right thing to do? No. They have already attested to that and apologized. The team did not shake hands. No one was injured, no one was abused. A quick decision on not shaking hands made in protest over clock mismanagement; for which they apologized to the opposing team right after the game.

People seem to forget the hundreds of hours of commitment that has gone into this team from the coaches. All of right things that they have done over the season(s) is being negated by one thing. Players weren't sent out there to injure other kids, they weren't instructed to abuse an official, the coaches themselves did not abuse any other player or official... they skipped the handshake. That's it. They have owned up to it and apologized for it. It's a tough world we live in when everyone else is so perfect that you cant even apologize for something like this and move on.

I am not attempting to take anything away from Matt Marotta... you get an "atta boy".

These are good coaches, who are good people, that have great kids who play on a good team. Move on.
